730.世界の軍事費4年ぶりに上昇ー2016.4.6 [国際―軍事]

昨年の世界の軍事費は、前の年に比べておよそ1%増えて1兆6760億ドル、日本円にして186兆円で、4年ぶりに増加に転じたことがスウェーデンの研究所の調査でわかりました。
スウェーデンのストックホルム国際平和研究所が5日発表したところによりますと、内戦が続くシリアやイエメンを抱える中東、中国による南シナ海への海洋進出によって緊張が高まるアジア太平洋、紛争が続くロシアとウクライナの周辺国を含む東欧などで、軍事費が増えたことから、世界の軍事費は、増加に転じたということです。
国別にみますと、アメリカが軍事費が最も多く1位で前の年より2.4%減少して、5960億ドルと、全体のおよそ36%を占めています。
続く2位が中国で、前の年より7.4%増えて2150億ドル、3位は、イエメンでの空爆を主導するサウジアラビアで、5.7%増えて872億ドルとなっていす。
4位がロシア、5位がイギリス、6位がインド、7位がフランス、8位が日本、9位がドイツ、10位が韓国となっています。

A Swedish research institute says that the world’s military spending in 2015 totaled 1.68 trillion dollars, a rise of 1 percent from the previous year.
That’s the first increase after four years of declining spending.
The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute says that the increase was attributed primarily to an increase in spending in the Middle East, Asia and Eastern Europe. It notes the turmoil in the Middle East and rising tension in the South China Sea and points out that Easter European countries are concerned about a threat from Russia.
The United States remains far ahead of other countries as the world’s biggest spender on its armed forces at 596 billion dollars. It accounts for about 36 percent of the total, even though its spending fell 2.4 percent from the previous year.
China ranks No.2 at 215 billion dollars, up 7.4 percent.
Saudi Arabia, which has been leading airstrikes in Yemen, was third. Its expenditure grew 5.7 percent to 87.2 billion dollars.
Russia was fourth at 66.4 billion dollars, followed by Britain, India and France..
Japan was eighth at 40.9 billion dollars.

今回のSIPRIの報告書については、日本のメディアも外国のメディアも報道していました。
外国のメディアの中に、軍事費の増加を貧困撲滅に向けるべきだということを示唆した部分をリードにもってきている報道があったことに注目したいと思います。日本のメディアには、そういう書き出しはありませんでした。
