アメリカのセッションズ司法長官は、13日、昨年のアメリカ大統領選挙へのロシアの介入疑惑について、上院情報特別委員会の公聴会で証言し、ロシア当局者との不適切な接触はなかったとし、自身のロシアとの共謀疑惑について、「ひどいうそだ」と述べ、全面的に否定しました。
セッションズ氏は、大統領選挙期間中、トランプ氏の政策アドバイザーをつとめていた際、ロシアの駐米大使と接触した事実を明らかにしなかったことに批判が集まったため、ロシアをめぐる捜査には関与しないことを表明していました。

U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions has denied any involvement in his alleged collusion with Russia.
Testifying before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday, he called the allegation “an appalling and detestable lie”
Mr. Sessions’ remark came after former FBI director James Comey said in his testimony in a Senate committee that he believed he was fired to influence the agency’s investigation into relations between Mr. Trump’s election campaign team and Russia. Mr. Comey also referred to Mr. Sessions’ ties with Russia.
Mr. Sessions, who served a close adviser to the Trump’s campaign team, admitted that he met twice last year with the Russian ambassador to the United States. But he said that while he raised the issue of Ukraine with the ambassador, he does not recall bringing up any other issues during the meetings.
U.S. Democrats criticized Mr. Sessions for his partial refusal to answer questions over alleged collusion between Mr. Trump’s campaign team and Russia.
